The evolution of the railway infrastructure never stops, not even in the face of the most demanding technical challenges.

A perfect example is the recent intervention on the Pescara–Bari line, on the Ripalta–Lesina section, where S.I.F.EL. S.p.A. has built and commissioned a new temporary Electrical Substation with ONAE modules—an essential work for continuing the railway line’s double-tracking and for constructing the new viaduct.

The new SSE replaces the one in Ripalta, ensuring full continuity of electrical power supply and the safety of the entire section. Supplied at 150 kV from the TERNA grid, the temporary installation consists of five functional modules that integrate transformation, conversion, power supply, and remote control: a concentrate of engineering designed to deliver the reliability of a permanent plant in a temporary configuration.

The construction site, carried out in collaboration with D’Agostino Costruzioni Generali for the civil works, represents a key step in strengthening the Adriatic backbone, one of the country’s most important railway arteries.

With interventions like this, S.I.F.EL. S.p.A. renews its commitment to building infrastructures that combine technology and efficiency, helping make Italian rail mobility increasingly modern, widespread, and sustainable.
