Construction has begun for the electrification of the Biella–Santhià railway. S.I.F.E.L. Spa is the executing company and will not only handle the executive design, based on the definitive design prepared by the Sintagma company and the additions made by RFI, but also the foundation blocks, installation of poles, and mounting of cantilevers at the stations of: Santhià, Salussola, and Biella S.Paolo; installation and tensioning of the conductors forming part of the contact lines and of the feeder conductors.
The new electric railway should be completed and inaugurated around October next year.
