We are proud to have taken part in the signing event for the Memorandum of Understanding for the electrification of the Ivrea-Aosta railway line, a strategic project for the mobility of our country in which S.I.F.EL. S.p.A. is directly involved.

With the installation of one of the railway poles we arranged to symbolically inaugurate the worksite, the works presented during the intervention of the Councillor of the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta, Luigi Bertschy, the Councillor of the Piedmont Region, Marco Gabusi, the RFI Project Representative, Gaetano Pitisci and the RFI Chief Executive Officer, Gianpiero Strisciuglio, officially enter the operational phase.

The initiative, which takes place along a route of around 66 km, was created to improve the efficiency of rail transport in Piedmont and Valle d'Aosta, thanks to the use of high-performance electric vehicles that will ensure a significant reduction in CO2 emissions across the splendid area covered by the line.

But that’s not all: by eliminating the need to change trains in Ivrea, the journey times for the entire line will also be reduced by more than forty minutes.

The project, which will keep the S.I.F.EL. S.p.A. teams engaged for two years, also includes the installation of three new electrical substations in Donnaz, Chatillon and Aosta, as well as upgrades to the stations along the route, including major refurbishment works at Hone-Bard and Nus.

We would like to thank Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, the Autonomous Region of Valle d'Aosta and the Piedmont Region for choosing S.I.F.EL. S.p.A. for the development of such a valuable project, which reflects the values of innovation and sustainability we have always been committed to: to connect the future, together.
